I am Ron, a retired Navy Veteran, and the CEO of the American Veterans Honor & Reflective Remembrance Committee (www.avhrrc.org). I had envisioned forming this nonprofit for many years. My first event was amazing at Valley Forge Military Academy on 21 October 2023. The organization has growing pains with two planned events in 2024. My goal is to fill the open positions on my present committee of me, myself and I in 2024.
I’m so honored to bring this first event to life. We plan to move forward with plans to expand honoring and remembrance to veterans of Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and all conflicts post WW2. My team is amazing and very dedicated to serving all our veterans with top-notch entertainment and period cuisine.
I was born in the Bronx, in 1953 and really enjoyed my childhood. As an adult, I never realized what a wonderful time, I had the privilege to live during. I spent many years as a Sea Cadet and eventually enlisted in the greatest Navy in the world. Life has provided me with so many gifts and the dearest family and friends. I never forgot where I came from and will continue to strive to honor as many patriots as I can for their service to our beautiful country.
One of my most memorable experiences was running the Funeral Honors program from 2001 to 2002. This assignment took us all over the five boroughs of New York, where we assisted in honoring a fallen sailor killed at his desk at the Pentagon during 9-11. He was the same career field as me, an Illustrator Draftsman.
One of my last active-duty assignments was the 56th Armed Forces Inaugural Committee for the election of Barack Obama, where I was assigned to design, print, and distribute the graphics for this event. I had the honor to design a 40’ x 40’ map, which was instrumental in the planning of the ceremony and the 2009 Inauguration Day Parade. I know, this map was used again for parade preparation in later Inaugurations and might still be stored at Ft. McNair near the Washington Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C.
